The Last Resort Small Dog Rescue
(formerly The Poodle Preserve)
What is a Rescue?
A rescue takes in dogs  who have run out of options, usually
from shelters.  We  nurse sick dogs back to health, worm
them, update their shots, get them spayed or neutered, and
then put them up for adoption to the right home.  The purpose
of rescue is to save lives and to prevent more unwanted
puppies from being born.  There are not enough homes out
there, and we believe in spaying and neutering to prevent
more loss of life.  For every puppy born who gets a home,
another dog loses his/her life.
Our Mission
We seek to save the lives of abused dogs who have never had a
chance. We promote education about the importance of spaying
and neutering, and we provide a hospice for  neglected senior
dogs so that they can experience love, caring, and compassion.

The Last Resort  is an undertaking of love and commitment.
It is a small dog  rescue and rehab in the mountains of
Colorado.  We also rescue Poodles of any size or mix.  We
take in the unwanted, the misfits, the physically challenged
and the emotionally traumatized.  Our focus is on healing the
minds and bodies of abused dogs, and then finding them the
perfect home.

What we do:
We are a sanctuary for special needs dogs
We have rescued over 700 dogs
We are often the last resort for abused dogs
We rehab unsocialized and aggressive dogs
We rescue/rehab all  small breeds & mixes

The Poodle Preserve recently reincorporated under a new
name to reflect the fact that we rescue small dogs of any
breed or mix.
Please continue donating to help these very worthy dogs,
who suffer and face extinction through no fault of their own.
